SPICE CLASS DESCRIPTONS
SPICE Barre Circuit
SPICE Barre Circuit is a blend of circuit training with barre exercises at the Barre, TRX, BOSU and light weights. You will experience a full body workout blending together various aspects of ballet, Pilates and strength based exercises. Grip socks required.
SPICE Barre TRX
SPICE Barre TRX is uses all the moves you love in our SPICE Barre classes, but adds the TRX for more variety of moves that will challenge your balance and core. Options are given for all fitness levels. Grip socks required.
For the absolute beginner or a former dancer looking for a refresher, this class is a perfect fit in a fun & relaxed environment. Exercises will be aimed at conditioning the body using ballet exercises with a focus on proper alignment, core and leg strength, and flexibility. Basic ballet steps and vocabulary will be taught. No prior dance experience is necessary.
Please wear grippy socks or ballet shoes for class.
SPICE Barre Stretch
SPICE Barre Stretch is a unique and balanced blend of Barre and Yoga. This class will start with all the best aspects of a barre class for 30 minutes and then move to the mat for 30 minutes of Soul Body Restore with emphasis on foam rolling, dynamic stretching, and meditation leaving you leaving the class with a relaxed and centered feel. Grip socks required.
SPICE CARDIO & STRENGTH
Equipment varies but you could expect to use things such as hand weights, TRX, BOSU, resistance bands, steps, glider discs, stability balls, etc.
Not sure whether you want an energetic, heart-pumping workout or a slower, restorative session? This class combines the best of both worlds! We begin with 25 minutes of high intensity intervals of cardio and strength (adapted for every fitness level), then we move to the mat for 25 minutes to calm our mind and body with restorative stretches and poses. You will leave this class feeling refreshed! Clean athletic shoes required.
SPICE Strength Balance Core
Our Strength, Balance, and Core classes offer 60 minutes of movement with a purpose. Our instructors incorporate functional movements that are relatable to everyday life creating stamina and longevity. Clients will experience a longer, dynamic warm up, followed by upper body endurance strength. The class then moves toward the barres to work on the lower body (legs and glutes) before coming back to the center of the room for stranding core work. Additional core work is done on the floor with mats. Throughout class, balance work is carefully weaved into the moves so clients can practice this important life skill. Class ends with a 10 minute stretch to focus on flexibility. Grip socks or clean athletic shoes are acceptable.
Find your flow and release your fascia! In this yoga class we will incorporate a variety of asana (poses) to improve your strength, stamina, flexibility, and balance. Additionally, we use self myofascial release tools (such as foam rollers and tennis balls) as a form of soft tissue therapy that releases pain and increases mobility. Fascia is a network of connective tissue that surrounds and includes your muscles. Facial release improves the slide and glide of your tissues and hydrates them through the act of compressing and releasing, freeing up more mobility than is achievable with stretching alone. No socks required. You may bring your own mat or mats are available to use at the studio.
SPICE Flow Yoga
Our SPICE Flow Yoga is designed to challenge and energize you, incorporating strength, stamina, flexibility, and balance. This all-levels Yoga Flow is a traditional Vinyasa yoga that features numerous modifications and options to make the practice accessible for yogis of all levels. No socks are required. You may bring your own mat or mats are available to use at the studio.
SPICE Slow Flow
Our SPICE Slow Flow Yoga is geared specifically for those new to yoga or those who are interested in a gentle practice. Slow Flow Yoga incorporates simple flowing sequences to warm up the body, as well as slower paced movements focusing on alignment, strength, balance, and flexibility. No socks required. You may bring your own mat or mats are available to use at the studio.
SPICE Yin & Zen
Yin yoga is a passive practice that targets fascia, connective tissue, and the inner layers of the self through long-held floor postures. Born from ancient practices of Daoist yoga, yin yoga works to stimulate the flow of Chi, or Prana, through the body’s meridian system. Moving stagnant Chi improves the health of the organs, initiates the body’s healing process, and allows the practitioner to release stored emotions. Modern living is intensely yang. The quiet yin practice helps us to create balance between our outward yang lives and our inner yin lives.
Learning to slow down and sit quietly with ourselves brings increased calm, peace and enhances our ability to meditate and tap into our intuition. No socks are required. You may bring your own yoga mat or mats available.
